Fat-Free Iced Coffee Soda

Coca-Cola Blak may have nothing on this recipe: mix up Coke, a berry-licious Ethiopian coffee, and iced coffee cubes.

Ingredients

  • Sidamo Ethiopian (for a slightly mocha flavor) with just a pinch of cinnamon. I’ve also done with a half teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
  • Coffee Cubes (Ice cubes made from left over coffee)
  • Lactose fat-free milk
  • One can of Coke Zero
  • Sweeter of choice
  • 1 16-20 oz cup

Directions

Preparation of ice cubes:

  1. Fill ice tray with leftover morning coffee and freeze overnight so you have great ‘coffee cubes’
  2. If you don’t have enough for a full tray, you can add water and skim milk

Coffee Preparation:

  1. Night before: 2 scoops per cup of regular grind Sidamo Ethiopian in a Melita paper filter
  2. Add sweetener of choice to taste
  3. Let cool overnight to room temperature

Next morning:

  1. Fill cup 1/3 (about 4-6 oz) of Coke Zero (do this first so the fizz settles. Do not pour in the coffee or ice slush until the fizz settles)
  2. Add 1/3 cup of the Sidamo Coffee
  3. Put 6 coffee cubes and 1/2 cup of lactose fat-free milk in blender and set to frap setting for 15 seconds or until ice is slushy like a frap
  4. Add the slush and stir
  5. Insert straw and enjoy
