Building an Espresso Shot with an HX machine: Nuova Simonelli Musica

Building an Espresso Shot with an HX machine: Nuova Simonelli Musica: a Video

I have been using several different kind of espresso machines since when I have started my journey into coffee including the humble small single boiler machine and then a huge double boiler three groups La Marzocco; in between, I use a handful of lever espresso machine with single boiler design. My latest fascination is with Heat-Exchanger style of espresso machine which the Nuova Simonelli Musica is. I have been using it off an on for about half a year along with other lever machine. Now that my main lever is gone and the Ponte Vecchio Lusso sit waiting to have a seal change, the Musica has become my main machine. Since I have some time, I decided to film my whole routine with this machine.

The grinder I'm using is the Baratza Vario but I forgot what the beans was. I also showed briefly how I do the cool down flush but perhaps I will post a closer video next time. The Musica is a remarkably stable HX machine and produces very nice shot!
